If your car is equipped with a timing belt, it is critical that it is replaced at the factory recommended intervals. If the timing belt breaks it will normally cause major engine damage. So instead of a moderately priced timing belt kit install, you are looking at a major engine repair. It is normally money well spent to keep the timing belt system working the way it was designed.
